Members of staff can request sessions to be delivered within the curriculum by completing this online form

Researching Mergers and Acquisitions Deals

Use Thomson ONE to:

find an overview of M&A markets

search for M&A deals using various variables

obtain detailed information on selected M&A deals

configure your own report output

You are expected to read our post Introduction to mergers and acquisitions before attending this workshop.

Beginners' reference management with EndNote online

EndNote online is the web-based version of the EndNote reference management software. Freely available on the Internet, you can register as a University of Manchester user via the Web of Knowledge database to get access to the full functionality of this resource which you can use to keep track of your reading, share your references with others and create citations and bibliographies in the appropriate format and style. This workshop will introduce you to the software and help you to start using this valuable referencing tool.

Bloomberg introduction

Beginners' reference management with Mendeley

This session will introduce participants with no previous experience of using Mendeley to the advantages of using reference management software and to the key functionality of the software.

Searching systematically

Tue 3 Dec 2019, 14:00 - 16:00

Do you struggle replicating a search in a different database? This session will show participants how to replicate a search in four database platforms. This session will raise awareness of some of the search tools useful in replicating searches. Additional support for replicating searches can be found on the Systematic Review Libguide, and the My Learning Essentials - Getting Results: Guides to Searching Databases guide.

This session will run for 90 minutes and there will be 30 minutes at the end for further questions.

Beginner's reference management with Endnote

This hands-on session will introduce you to the EndNote reference management software, a tool to help with managing your references and creating citations and bibliographies in different formats. The workshop will help to get you started using EndNote to manage references, annotate the PDFs of articles attached to your reference data and to generate bibliographies in over 5000 different styles.

These are informal sessions and there is no need to book in advance.
