MLE open programme
The open programme offers face-to-face workshops and online resources.
Our workshops provide a safe and interactive learning environment where students work through various activities and problems designed to help them develop particular skills.
The online resources provide help with topics from referencing to writing a CV - as well as links to additional resources, so that students can work through a topic at their own pace, at a time that suits them.
What makes My Learning Essentials great?
- The My Learning Essentials open programme offers non-degree specific skills support on a University-wide basis to students at any level of study from undergraduate to postgraduate. We help students gain valuable new skills through their studies, as well as developing those underlying core skills which allow them to excel in their academic life.
- The open programme is all about helping students to make the most out of their time at The University of Manchester. We provide students with training in academic and information literacy skills and work with partner services across the University (such as the University of Manchester Counselling and Careers services and the DASS), acting as a central hub connecting students to vital support services around campus.
- Using our extensive programme of face-to-face workshops and online resources, we offer students the opportunity to select the skills and competencies they would like to develop and how they would like to develop them. This flexibility, combined with access to dedicated careers sessions, means that students who participate in our programme can prepare themselves for life outside of study and start out on a desired career path.
