Public Engagement
Ways to extend your research reach to public audiences.
Public Engagement with Research is a good way of taking research to a wider audience that could benefit from its outcomes.
The John Rylands Research Institute and Library engages with public audiences through a programme of events and school workshops in line with the University’s public engagement strategy. With over 260,000 visitors a year and 3000 school children engaging with the Library, we are in a strong position to collaborate with you to achieve research impact. We work with researchers to connect them to the public through a range of activities, encouraging participation and informal learning.
We have developed evaluation tools to help measure the impact of the Library’s offer for the public. Over 80% of visitors learn something new within our spaces. We can support you to evaluate the impact of public engagement activities and provide guidance on developing curriculum-related activities and opportunities to work with schools and colleges.
If your work links to the Special Collections of the University and you want opportunities to engage public audiences with your research, please contact us.
