Jennie Blake

Biography
Jennie Blake provides strategic leadership for initiatives that enhance student success, belonging and educational opportunity across the institution. Her work focuses on creating inclusive, evidence-informed learning environments that enable all students to thrive and achieve their potential. She has worked in education for more than 25 years and taught in schools, universities and third spaces. She leads on the development of the Library's My Learning Essentials student success programme and the CATE-award winning Library Student Team.
With expertise spanning student partnership, inclusive curriculum design, educational development, assessment and feedback, and the effective use of digital and AI-enabled approaches to learning, Jennie works collaboratively with academic and professional services colleagues and students to improve the student experience and reduce barriers to success. She is particularly interested in how universities can foster belonging, agency and engagement through inclusive educational practices and organisational change.
Jennie is also an active contributor to the higher education sector through conference presentations, publications and professional development activities focused on teaching excellence, inclusion and student success. She is a Principal Fellow of Advance HE and has been awarded a National Teaching Fellowship (2018) and a CATE (2024).
