The DASS room at the Alan Gilbert Learning Commons

Once registered with DASS, you will be entitled to access and use our accessible rooms, based in Main Library and AGLC.

The rooms allow the University to provide adaptive hardware, furniture and software to students that have specific requirements to ensure they can access the full learning opportunities at the University. The technology and other adaptive support provided in the space can be tailored to the group of students currently using it and thus may change in response to student need.

Within each of the rooms you will find specialist equipment including:

  • Height-adjustable desks
  • Ergonomic chairs
  • Ergonomic mice
  • High contrast and large font keyboards
  • Coloured printing paper
  • Free printing facilities
  • Lockers (by assignment only)
  • Adjustable lighting and heating.

The PC's allow access to Dragon, Supernova Screen Magnifier and Jaws.

  • Contact Customer Services via Library Chat for any queries regarding the DASS rooms.
