In order to receive a price breakdown for your order, please complete our Imaging Service application form and we'll be in touch.

Image Type
We supply large JPEGs (300dpi) as standard. Large JPEG files are 4500px on the longest edge @ 300dpi. They are suitable for more detailed viewing and for most publications.
If you require TIFFs (600dpi) or PDFs these can also be supplied.
Members of The University of Manchester
For University of Manchester staff and students, up to 20 images or three entire volumes, can be provided free of charge.
Publication and Permission to reproduce images from our collections
Corporate organizations, private individuals and staff within similar organizations worldwide may request images for personal use or for publication. The Library, however, retains copyright on all such images produced from its stock. The Library must, therefore, in all instances and without exception, be asked for permission to reproduce any images prior to any proposed publication.
The Library does not charge permission fees.
Advanced Imaging Prices
We are trialling our Advanced Imaging Service, so do get in touch if you would like a quote. We charge £50 (ex. VAT) per item in our collections that you would like us to process.

We are happy to discuss all imaging services and applications for permission to reproduce images from our collection with you. Please contact us for special requests or requirements. We reserve the right to charge by the hour for more complex material. For further information please contact us.
