Workshop
Open Access is an important consideration for all Manchester researchers. This short 30 minute workshop provides a practical introduction to Open Access publishing, explaining what Open Access is, why it matters, and the steps you can take to make your research outputs openly available. You'll learn about the different routes to Open Access, funder and institutional requirements, and the support available to help you publish with confidence.
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Explain what Open Access is and the benefits to you as a researcher and to wider society.
- Distinguish between the main routes to Open Access publishing.
- Identify the most appropriate Open Access method for your research.
- Know how to ensure compliance with institutional and funder Open Access requirements.
- Understand how the Library can help you.
