Tealdi Correspondence
Date range: 1836-1838

Miscellaneous business correspondence, mostly relating to the cloth trade, addressed to Pietro Ascagno Tealdi, a merchant based in Manchester.
Tealdi dealt mostly in the cloth trade, but was also known as a picture dealer and had an interest in a vinegar works. In 1838 he fell into insolvency and was declared bankrupt, but this was annulled in 1840. He appears to have returned to his native Italy around this time.
Almost all the letters are from Italy (mainly Ancona, Genoa, Livorno and Turin) and are written in Italian, with a few from Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris.
