A collection of plays and books on theatrical history, amassed by George Leslie Brook (1910-1987), Professor of English Language and Medieval English Literature at Manchester University from 1945 to 1977.

There are around 130 texts printed before 1801, approximately 1100 19th-century works, and the remainder date from the 20th century. The texts are predominantly in English, but most European languages are represented. Many of the items are scarce. H. J. (Henry James) Byron (1835-1884), Henrik Ibsen (1828-1906), Henry Arthur Jones (1851-1929), John Maddison Morton (1811-1891), Sir Arthur Wing Pinero (1855-1934), and Bernard Shaw (1856-1950) are among the dramatists for whom a considerable number of items are available.
