This collection consists of items in German, English, Hebrew, Latin and other European languages, ranging in date from the 1550s to the late 20th century. The majority of the collection is from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Subjects include Jewish history and the practice of Judaism, some Biblical material, a little literature (mostly German), and some material on Palestine and the modern state of Israel. The collection is particularly strong on the history and culture of Jewish communities in Europe, particularly eastern Europe in the early part of the 20th century.
The collection was acquired from the family of Richard Teltscher in 2002, with an additional deposit in 2018.
