We've changed our name

The John Rylands University Library is now known as The University of Manchester Library.

You may have already noticed the new name appearing on signs and notices in our libraries.

The changes will continue on the website and other signage over the summer.

Haggadah on iTunes

The Rylands Haggadah, an important Hebrew manuscript, is now available on iTunes.

Preserved by experts at the John Rylands Library this fourteenth-century masterpiece was digitised by experts in our Centre for Heritage Imaging and Collection Care (CHICC).

Learning Commons preview

The Alan Gilbert Learning Commons opens its doors in Summer 2012.

A collaboration between partners across the University in consultation with representatives from the Students Union, the Learning Commons will offer a flexible, ultra-modern and stimulating learning space.

Managed by the JRUL, it will be open 24/7 and feature cutting edge technology.
