Gary Herman is a journalist, writer and editor. He was one of the early writers and part of the team of the British music magazine Let It Rock. Let It Rock was a monthly music magazine launching in late 1972 and running through to December 1975. As well as his work for Let It Rock and other publications Gary Herman has written numerous books on music and popular culture including Rock ‘n’ Roll Babylon. The Book of Hollywood Quotes and The Who.

The archive contains a full run of Let It Rock magazine, magazine company paperwork, unedited and first draft articles, further written work and ideas, a large collection of press photographs from the Let It Rock offices. A good collection of national and regional fanzines, political press and counter-culture materials. Original copies of books written by or that include work by Gary Herman.
