The library of the Manchester Association of Masonic Research (incorporating some volumes from the Provincial Grand Lodge of East Lancashire) which was received on deposit in 2004. The collection constitutes one of the most significant libraries in Britain relating to the history of freemasonry.

The collection is predominantly English, with items dating mainly from the 19th and 20th centuries. There is an extensive set of individual lodge histories, plus a number of runs of masonic periodicals, calendars and yearbooks. The collection also contains a large number of pamphlets and other ephemeral items including certificates and programmes.
