The collection of George Leslie Brook (1910-1987), Professor of English Language and Medieval English Literature at Manchester University, 1945-77, is devoted to the theology and literature of the 17th and early 18th centuries.

It contains 70 titles by Gilbert Burnet (1643-1715), a Scottish philosopher, historian, and Bishop of Salisbury, and 25 by Thomas Fuller (1608-1661), an English historian and churchman now known largely for his written works. The majority of the collection is in English with a small number of works in Latin and other European languages.
