Norman Frisby was Chief Press Officer and Head of Publicity at Granada Television. He joined Granada in 1959 and stayed in position for over 30 years. One of his first projects was the newly launched Coronation Street. He also commissioned and oversaw the filming of the first broadcast footage of The Beatles, filmed at The Cavern Club in 1961.
In 1974 he was appointed Granada’s Chief Press and PR Officer and was also Chairman of the ITN PR Group.
The archive contains personal scrapbooks, photography books, business and personal correspondence and related Granada and industry promotional material and industry ephemera.
Norman Frisby died in 2022.
