Searching together is an event for students to come together for a fixed amount of time and search for information for their coursework. The aim is to learn and carry out a search strategy on 3 key resources: Library Search; Library databases and Google Scholar, in an informal environment, helping you set aside some dedicated time to practice your search skills and connect with other students. It is a great way to make progress if you are trying to find quality information for your studies or pulling together your literature review for a dissertation.
To get the most out of this session you need to prepare by completing a pre-session task which will take you about 10 minutes. You can find the task and other details about the session here: https://mleblog.medium.com/searching-together-fab8ecba6d95
Whilst two hours doesn't sound like much, it is amazing what you can get done if you really focus. There will be short, scheduled breaks in between searching sessions of 20 minutes, to help keep you motivated and on-task. During the breaks, there will also be time to reflect on some of the challenges facing students and how you might support one another.
