Want to learn to code? Got a question about something you're already working on? Just need somewhere to work on your code? Then come to code club. Code club is open to all students and staff, no need to book just drop in.

3D design & printing with Fusion360

Want to learn how to create and modify 3D objects for printing? Come along to our 3D printing workshop, where you'll learn how to use Fusion360 (software that is available to you for free, throughout your time at University) to create and modify objects.

This workshop is part of the DigiLab Residency, which is running over two weeks from 4 - 15 November. You can drop in any time and print your creations, iterate prototypes and learn more about 3D printing, as well as a whole range of other technologies.

Join us on the ground floor of the main library. Follow the signs for DigiLab.

Be part of an interactive installation of eTextiles at the DigiLab Residency. Join artist, technologist and maker Sam Topley as we create an interactive DigiLab sign out of tuneful pom poms.

Make your own VR environments: A beginners A-Frame workshop

Create your first virtual reality environment from scratch.

The first section will involve some theory, some background and some coding along. The second section will be dedicated to working on a project and asking questions of the facilitators when you need to. You'll be able to continue working on your project after the workshop is finished and you'll be able to view it in VR too.

Submit your own design in advance and come along to the workshop to have it printed on an article of clothing (doesn't have to be a T-shirt!).

Everything is a keyboard: An Arduino workshop

Learn how to use the Arduino microcontroller to turn anything into a keyboard or build your own custom game controller.

Bring an object to turn into a controller. A cardboard box, a shoe, a plastic toy? Anything with some space inside and that you can make holes in! This workshop is suitable for complete beginners. You'll learn how to program an Arduino to make it press keyboard keys.

This workshop is a great, fun introduction to physical computing.
