Imaging Service prices
This price list supersedes all others. A minimum charge of £15 will be applied to all standard rate orders. For members of The University of Manchester we offer a discount of 20% on our standard rate. University of Manchester students do not incur VAT.
|Small JPEG||1-10||£3 each||Small JPEG files are 1200px on the longest edge @ 72dpi. They are suitable for viewing on screens, tablets and mobiles.|
|Small JPEG||Per 100 images above the first 200||£100|
|Large JPEG||1||£12||Large JPEG files are 3500px on the longest edge @ 300dpi. They are suitable for more detailed viewing.|
|TIFF||1||£40||TIFFs are 6500px on the longest edge @ 600dpi. They are suitable for publication or media use.|
|Photographic prints||1||£35||Size on request up to A3.|
All express photography will be undertaken at double the current price listings. Express is defined as the supply of photographic images within five working days of the receipt of the completed application. During peak periods we may not able to process express orders for non-stock images.
Image manipulation service
Customers may request additional image manipulation, e.g. digital stitching or removing original blemishes. We offer this service at £40 (exc. VAT) per hour or part thereof.
Publication and Permission to reproduce images from our collections
Corporate organizations, private individuals and staff within similar organizations worldwide may request images for personal use or for publication. The Library, however, retains copyright on all such images produced from its stock. The Library must, therefore, in all instances and without exception, be asked for permission to reproduce any images prior to any proposed publication.
The Library does not charge permission fees.
Payment can be accepted from departments within the University by the internal transfer system. The official order must contain the finance journal transfer code in full to facilitate the transfer. Staff who supply the journal transfer code are exempt from VAT. transfer.
We are happy to discuss all imaging services and applications for permission to reproduce images from our collection with you. Please contact us for special requests or requirements. We reserve the right to charge by the hour for more complex material. For further information please contact us.
