Christmas closure days
The Library will be closed from Tuesday, 24 December to Wednesday, 1 January inclusive.
Visitor opening hours
The John Rylands Library is open to visitors seven days a week.
- Monday: 12noon to 5pm
- Tuesday: 10am to 5pm
- Wednesday: 10am to 5pm
- Thursday: 10am to 5pm
- Friday: 10am to 5pm
- Saturday: 10am to 5pm
- Sunday: 12noon to 5pm
Please note that the last entry to the Library will be at 4.45pm. This is to ensure that all visitors are evacuated safely and securely.
Reader Services opening times
Normal reading room opening hours are 10am - 5pm (7pm Thursday), Monday to Saturday.

- Tuesday: 10am to 5pm
- Wednesday: 10am to 5pm
- Thursday: 10am to 7pm
- Friday: 10am to 5pm
- Saturday: 10am to 5pm
- Sunday: Closed
The Reader Service is closed on public holidays.
