Dr Moses Tyson (1897–1969) was Keeper of Western Manuscripts at The John Rylands Library from 1927 to 1935, then Librarian of the University of Manchester, 1935–65.

Under Tyson’s leadership, The University of Manchester Library grew into one of the largest university libraries in the country.
