Members of the SCONUL Access Scheme
Staff, research postgraduates, full time taught postgraduates, part-time, distance learning and placement students at institutions in the SCONUL (Society of College, National and University Libraries) Access scheme may apply to use The University of Manchester Library and borrow books (except full time undergraduates).
All staff and students within the Sconul Access Scheme may access any of The University of Manchester Library sites with the exception of the Alan Gilbert Learning Commons.
SCONUL Access is available by bands of use.

In order to access The University of Manchester Library through the SCONUL Access Scheme, you will need to bring a printed copy of your SCONUL Access approval email as well as your university ID card. All users of the Stopford Library will need to show SCONUL membership details and ID at reception to gain access to the building and the Library.
If you are applying by post, please ensure that a photocopy of your university ID is enclosed along with a printed copy of your SCONUL Access approval email, otherwise there may be a delay in processing your application.
SCONUL users who are entitled to borrow books, can loan four books for a semester (High Demand books are excluded)
You cannot use the Document Supply service but do have access to some electronic resources.
