Ask the Library

We know there are potentially a million things you might need a helping hand with over the exam period. No question is too big, no question is too small! We’ll try our hardest to support you in your studies.

You can get in touch with a member of Library staff through various channels; first and foremost, come and chat to us! All our Libraries have a Customer Services desk with staff who are more than happy to help. You can also find staff around the building to help you, identifiable by their name badges and lanyards.

Our Library Chat service now operates longer core hours, and we've invested in an out-of-hours service so you can now use Library Chat 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Look out for our student team in the Learning Commons.  They can help you with anything from finding a book to finding a place to study or plug in your laptop.

You can speak to someone over the phone when you're studying away from the Library, our main contact numbers are:

All our contact details are available on our Contact page.

If you can't get hold of someone in person, you can send an enquiry via My Manchester, and a member of staff will pick it up as soon as they are available.

Alternatively, you can find us on social media channels, on facebook and twitter (#examextra). Make sure to add us as we'll be letting you know about our Exam extra services via these channels.
