Using Library Search
There are four wheelchair height PCs on the ground floor of the Main Library where you can access Library Search.
If you are having difficulty with library search, please ask a member of staff to help.

Book retrieval service
If you have difficulty retrieving material from the shelves, you may be eligible to use our Advanced Ordering Service.
This service is mainly for students with physical disability and is via recommendation from the Disability Support Office.
You can also ask other people to collect material on your behalf. All they need is your library card and a letter of authorisation from you.
You don’t have to come in to the library to renew your book. They can be renewed by telephone on 0161 275 3718 or online by going to the My Account section of the library catalogue or through My Manchester.
It is only possible to renew your books if they haven’t been requested by another customer.
High demand books can also be renewed either by telephone or online, provided they are not required by other readers.
DELIVER is a postal loans service that we offer at the Main Library. We offer to send library materials to students and staff if they are having difficulty calling into the library in person.

There are a number of photocopiers available in our libraries. If you have any problems please speak to a member of staff.
You may be eligible to claim back copying expenses, contact the Disability Support Office for more information.
