Digitise your collections
The Centre for Heritage Imaging and Collection Care (CHICC) offers a range of bespoke services to help you digitise your collections. We specialise in high-resolution imaging.
Prior to digitisation, your collection will be assessed by our Collection Care team who will advise on its suitability, and recommend any pre-digitisation treatment.
To discuss your requirements please contact Carol Burrows at firstname.lastname@example.org or call on +44(0)161 275 3778
Our digitisation team can travel to your institution to digitise in-situ.
This methodology is particularly appropriate for large, fixed or fragile items or should you prefer your collection to remain within your institution.
We are also happy to digitise in a public space and interact with visitors.
Digitising at The John Rylands Library
We have two fully-equipped studios on two Manchester sites and numerous climate-controlled, secure storage areas.
We can arrange transportation of your collections to The John Rylands Library for digitisation.
In some circumstances you may wish your collections to be hosted. We would be pleased to discuss options with you.
We can offer consultancy on any aspects of digitisation or collection care. Please contact us for information.
Scanning negatives and transparencies
Our Imacon Flextight 848 drum scanner can scan up to a resolution of 8000 dpi.
We also specialise in the safe digitisation of glass plate negatives and lantern slides using Phase One digital camera equipment.
