Guidelines for obtaining images and permissions for television transmission
We aim to respond as quickly as possible to your request. To facilitate this we ask you to complete the imaging service application form with as much detail as possible.
If you are unsure which image(s) you wish to use you are welcome to send your own researcher to our reading room. Please see our Special Collections pages for details on how to register as a reader.
The library can also recommend the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives (AGRA) as a resource to help locate a local researcher.
For television broadcasts you will need to order a TIFF image.
All permissions for television broadcasts are granted subject to contract. Contacts will be negotiated you in liaison with the University’s Contracts Office, and will include the details you provide during the application process.
Please be aware that the permissions process can take some time, so we request that you make applications well in advance of expected deadlines.
The release of images and permissions is dependent upon a signed contract and/or payment in full.
As a courtesy, we request that the Heritage Imaging Department is informed prior to the first broadcast of any programme in which one or more of our images has been included. This is to forewarn Library staff of potential public interest in our material.
