Allan Edmondson (fl.1816)
Allan Edmondson was an Irish layman who was appointed to the important Dungannon Committee of 1816 to discuss the sacramental dispute which was threatening to divide the movement in Ireland. Nothing further is known about him from the standard Methodist historical sources, except that he may perhaps be the man of the same name who is recorded in the manuscript collections as resident in the Dublin area in 1785 and as an associate of the prominent D'Olier family. This man was in regular correspondence with the Wesleyan itinerant John Allen and made at least one visit to Allen when he was stationed in West Yorkshire.
