- Repositories of Primary Sources (University of Idaho): a listing of over 5,500 Web sites describing holdings of manuscripts, archives, rare books, historical photographs, and other primary sources for the research scholar.
- Columbia University Library, Archives and Manuscript Collections Outside Columbia: modestly claims to be a selective guide to archives and manuscript collections, but in fact contains links to hundreds of repositories in the US (listed alphabetically) and elsewhere (listed by country, from Andora to Yugoslavia).
- American Library Association / Association of College and Research Libraries, Rare Books and Manuscripts Section: a regularly-updated digest of Special Collections Resources on the Web, including information on RBMS activities, seminars and standards.
- British Library: Help for researchers: includes links to most of the major printed-book collections worldwide, as well as bibliographical projects and digital resources.
