The Web of Knowledge site provides access to the following services:

Science Citation Index Expanded (1945 to date)
Social Sciences Citation Index (1956 to date)
Arts and Humanities Citation Index (1975 to date)
Conference Proceedings - Science (1990 to date)
Conference Proceedings - Social Science and Humanities (1990 to date)

The Citation Indexes provide details of articles from over 8,000 journals. Abstracts are provided for more recent material. In addition to conventional searching (by subject, author etc) it is possible to undertake citation searches. Conference Proceedings cover the proceedingsof international conferences, symposia, seminars, workshops and conventions.

Derwent Innovation Index (1963 to date)
The database provides international patent information. Details of nearly 15 million patents are included. There are three sections: Chemical, Engineering and Electrical and Electronic.

BIOSIS Previews (1969 to date)
The database contains references and abstracts of articles published in about 5,000 life sciences journals, plus details of conference proceedings, review articles and books. All areas of the life sciences are covered, from traditional areas of biology such as botany, zoology and microbiology to related fields such as pharmacology, ecology and experimental clinical medicine.

Journal Citation Reports (2000 to date)
The database provides information on the frequency with which a journal has been cited (Impact Factor), which journals are cited most often, the publications cited by a journal and how soon after publication a journal is being cited (Immediacy Index). The number of journal publication years going back from the current year which account for 50% of the total citations received by the cited journal in the current year (Cited Half-Life) is also provided.
