John T. Yeates (1805-85)
John T. Yeates was born in Portsmouth. Although his mother was religious, Yeates was wild as a young man before his conversion at the age of twenty-four. He entered the itinerancy in 1832 and worked in home circuits until superannuation in 1862. He spent his retirement in Banbury.
Yeates's conference obituary described him as highly nervous and somewhat eccentric.
