Maximilian Wilson (1777-1857)

Maximilian Wilson was born at Louth in Lincolnshire into a Methodist family. He was converted at the age of seventeen and became a local preacher four years later. Wilson joined the itinerancy in 1801 and exercised an active circuit ministry until superannuation in 1846. Wilson spent his retirement in Northampton and latterly Bedford where he died.

His conference obituary stated that 'under a somewhat rough exterior, there beat a heart most generous and affectionate...'.
