Nathaniel Wells (fl.1713-1740)
Nathaniel Wells entered Jesus College Oxford in 1713 and graduated B.A. in 1717. He received his M.A. from King's College Cambridge in 1735. Wells served as Rector of Ilston and Cardiff St Andrew. With Captain Phillips of Cardiff he invited Charles Wesley to visit the city in 1740 and entertained him at his home. He showed considerable fervour for the Evangelical cause.
His son Christopher was associated with the Holy Club during his time at Oxford.
