George Henry Wayne (1894-1970)

George Henry Wayne was born in East Langton, Leicestershire. He candidated for the ministry after working for a short while as a teacher. His training at Richmond College was interrupted by the outbreak of World War 1. He served as a chaplain in France and Belgium before returning to Handsworth to complete his training.

Wayne served as a missionary in China between 1921 and 1927. From China he went to British Honduras and then Barbados in the West Indies. He returned to England in 1933 and served as a circuit minister until superannuation in 1953.
