James Waller (d.1802)
James Waller was a prosperous lace merchant of London. He was married in December 1750 to Elizabeth Gwynne, sister to Sarah Wesley.
Despite the opposition of the Gwynne family to the match, it was apparently a happy union and the Waller and Wesley families were very close. Waller assisted Sarah in her financial affairs following Charles Wesley's death, with particular regard to the provisions of the will of Rebecca Gwynne, of which he was an executor.
