Joseph Taylor (1779-1845)

Joseph Taylor was born at Brampton near Walton in Cumberland. He was converted in early life and in 1803 embarked for the West Indies as a missionary. Taylor spent eight years in the mission field before returning to the circuit ministry in England. He served as Secretary of the Missionary Society from 1818 to 1826 and was elected President of Conference in 1834.
