William Wood Stamp (1801-77)


William Wood Stamp was born in Bradford, Yorkshire, son of the Wesleyan preacher John Stamp (d.1831). He was educated at Woodhouse Grove School and was converted as a medical student in London.

Stamp entered the Wesleyan ministry in 1823 and exercised an active ministry for fifty years. He served as President in 1860.

Stamp died at Waterloo, Liverpool.
