Thomas Simpson (1782-1863)

Thomas Simpson was born in Armley near Leeds in Yorkshire. He joined the Methodists in 1807 and was converted a short time after. He was appointed a class leader in 1809 and was very active in local Methodist affairs for the rest of his long life. Simpson frequently filled the office of circuit steward and he and his wife regularly offered hospitality to visiting preachers.
