John Ford Reed (1869-1962)

John Ford Reed was born in London, the son of William Bryan Reed, founder of Edgehill College, and the grandson of William Reed, one of the early leaders of the Bible Christian Connexion.

He was educated at Shebbear College and entered the Bible Christian ministry in 1887. Reed was bursar of Shebbear College for eleven years from 1922 and served as President of the United Methodist Conference in 1931, one of three members of his family to hold the Presidential Office in the United Methodist and Bible Christian Churches.
