John Parry (1804-71)

John Parry was born at Hazel Grove in Cheshire. He was converted at an early age and worked for a while as a Sunday School teacher.

Parry trained for the Congregational ministry at Rotherham Independent College and became pastor of a congregation in Lichfield.

In 1837 he was ordained into the Wesleyan ministry and served as a circuit minister until poor health forced his superannuation in 1856. He died at Sowerby in Yorkshire.
