Christopher Newton (1790-1861)

Christopher Newton was born at Caton near Lancaster into an Anglican-Methodist family. He was converted at the age of seventeen and entered the Wesleyan itinerancy in 1813. Newton was employed in the home circuit work until superannuation in 1856. He retired to Poulton-le Fylde in his native county.
