Joseph Mortimer (1797-1872)

Joseph Mortimer was born in Farndale, Yorkshire. He was converted at the age of twenty and after moving to Rosedale, founded two Methodist classes and established prayer meetings in an area where there had previously been no Methodist presence. In 1827 he was accepted as a probationer for the ministry and exercised an active circuit ministry until superannuation in 1867.
