Pierce Manaton (1704-1743)
Pierce Manaton was the son of Pierce Manaton of St Clement's London. He was an older contemporary of Charles Wesley at both Westminster School and Christ Church Oxford. Manaton graduated in 1723 and went on to take a medical degree in 1729 and a higher degree in medicine in 1733. Manaton was one of the doctors who treated Charles Wesley during a serious illness contracted in 1738. Manaton died at Oxford in March 1743.
