Samuel Lloyd (fl.1750)

Samuel Lloyd was a London lawyer and close friend of the Wesleys, especially Charles, who entrusted him with the management of his financial affairs. It is possible that he was a relative of the Gwynne family.

He may be identified with Samuel Lloyd, son of Revd. Thomas Lloyd of Shrewsbury, who graduated from Jesus College, Oxford, in 1735 and was the only person of that name to attend either Oxford or Cambridge during the first half of the eighteenth century.
