James Robinson Irving (1873-1949)

James Robinson Irving was born at Kirkby Stephen in Yorkshire. He was educated at the local grammar school and after working for several years in a solicitor's office, candidated for the Wesleyan ministry in 1894. He trained at Didsbury College and served as a Circuit minister from 1897 until superannuation in 1940. He was elected to the Legal Hundred in 1930.
