Benjamin Hopkins (fl.1820-1872)

Benjamin Hopkins was the son of the Methodist itinerant Samuel Hopkins (1758-1827). He was educated at Woodhouse Grove School and graduated B.A. from Trinity College Cambridge in 1826. Hopkins was ordained into the Church of England in 1827 and served several curacies before becoming Rector of Barbon in Westmoreland between 1847 and 1872, after which he disappears from the record.
