Arthur James Holmes (1910-88)

Arthur James Holmes was born at Cowes on the Isle of Wight. He was educated at Wareham and trained for the Wesleyan ministry at Handsworth. Holmes served as a missionary in Burma for six years from 1934 where he met and married his wife Hilda.

Holmes returned to England in 1940 and laboured as a circuit minister until superannuation in 1974. He spent the later years of his retirement in Bristol.
