John Hall (1766-1835)

John Hall was a member of the Bristol Methodist Society for over fifty years.

Possessed of  personal wealth, he was a benefactor of worthy causes all denominations and collected the considerable sum of £3500 for the erection of St Philip's Methodist Church in Bristol.

During his last two years despite the debilitating effect of two strokes, he was able to raise £80 per week for overseas missions.

He suffered from poor health for nine years before he died. His residence was in King's Square, Bristol.
