Henry Gwyther (1795-1872)

Henry Gwyther was born at Bristol, the son of Henry Gwyther. He was educated at Winkfield School, St Edmund Hall Oxford and Trinity Cambridge.

Gwyther was ordained in the Anglican Church in 1817 and served as Vicar of Yardley in Worcestershire between 1821 and 1872. Gwyther was a correspondent of the female evangelist Mary Tooth.

He was married to Mary Phillips and had issue. His son James Henry Alexander Gwyther (1833-75) was Vicar of Madeley between 1841 and 1859.
