Henry Gulliford (1852-1937)

Henry Gulliford was born at Dunster in Somerset. After training for the Wesleyan ministry at Didsbury College, he served as a missionary in India from 1877 until the end of his life.

The early part of his ministry was devoted to high school work and he was later engaged in the distribution of Christian literature. For twenty years he was also editor of the Harvest Field magazine.

Gulliford was keenly involved in the negotiations which led to the union of the Churches in South India shortly before his death.
