Thomas Fletcher (1781-1858)

Thomas Fletcher was born near Bury in Lancashire, the son of dissenters. He joined the Methodist society at the age of fifteen and entered the Wesleyan itinerancy in 1804. He served in the home ministry until superannuation in 1840. Fletcher lived in several places thereafter and died of apoplexy at Otley in Yorkshire.

Fletcher served as the headmaster of both Kingswood and Woodhouse Grove Schools.
