James Alexander Findlay (1880-1961)

James Alexander Findlay was born at Richmond in Surrey. He was educated at Cambridge University and entered the Wesleyan ministry in 1903. During his probation, Findlay was assistant tutor at Handsworth College and after sixteen years in the circuit ministry he was appointed New Testament Tutor at Didsbury. He remained in college teaching first in Manchester and then Bristol until superannuation in 1949. Findlay was elected to the Legal Hundred in 1930.
